Welcome Ms. Herrera’s Honors!

Hello Innovate students and families,

My name is Ms. Herrera. I am born and raised in San Antonio, TX. I studied at St. Mary’s University where I received my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. In my last year of my undergraduate class I decided I wanted to explore applying my engineering knowledge towards life science. Therefore I pursued my Masters in Marine Biology at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.

During my masters degree I worked as a full time math teacher, I taught pre algebra, algebra 1 (on-level and honors), and algebra 2! I found a love for teaching and supporting our future engineers, researchers, and doctors!

At KIPP DC Innovate I wear many hats! I am the in house substitute but when I am not substituting, I support in our math small groups for 5th - 8th grade. Additionally, I have built and now maintain our new website!

This is my second year at KIPP DC Innovate but my first full year, and I'm so excited to support our teachers and students with math and science studies!
