What happens if my child misses school?

• Daily attendance call

  Any day your child is absent, you will hear from us with a daily 9am phone call.

• Family Meeting

  After 5 total absences, we will meet to create a plan to support strengthening your student’s attendance

• CFSA Referral

  After 10 absences, we are required by law to make a CFSA referral.

• Intensive Support Plan

  If absences become serious, we may connect you with extra resources and a more thorough support plan.

Your student earns points every day for meeting and exceeding expectations

How students earn points:

• +2 points: present and on time for each class

• +1 point: present but tardy

• +2 bonus points/day: 100% attendance in all classes

• +2 points: Engaged and responsive in learning with camera on for full class

• Max: 20 points per day

Earn 90+ points in a week and shop at our Friday Student Store. Those fun prizes delivered right to your home.

Every Monday is a new chance to earn points for Friday!

• All students are issued a chromebook and charger.

  • If any enrollment changes occur, devices must be returned to KIPP DC Innovate Academy.

  • We understand that accidents happen and happily replace defective chromebooks. However, excessive (3+) replacements for damage caused by students will require a contract and/or fee.

• Chromebook sticker: don’t lose it!
